One of the things we really work at is safety - especially with what we call "woods tools" - knife, axe, and saw. Here the guys have set up a roped-off axe yard, designed to keep spectators out while someone is working with an axe, so as to provide a safe area. Learning the safety practices and skills can earn you a "Totin' Chip" - basically a little card which gives you permission to carry a pocketknife and to use an axe or saw (with appropriate supervision of course). I'm not sure why they're chopping wood, as it's too hot for that kind of exercise and it is definitely too hot to need a campfire!
