It is customary to construct some sort of campsite entrance with a sign to identify your troop. There's even a campsite competition where the troops get "graded" on improvements each day, like fancier campsite entrances, camp gadgets made with lashings, etc. These guys are seem to be trying to hang the sign from that cedar tree. Hopefully by later in the week someone will have lashed together a more elaborate entrance!

Putting up the Sign
It is customary to construct some sort of campsite entrance with a sign to identify your troop.
