Last Camp Dinner For Now

Enjoying one last camp dinner - tomorrow they'll pack up and come home. Each one will have grown up a bit at camp - by accomplishing more than they realized they could do, by being more independent and self sufficient than they have had to be before, and by functioning as a member of their patrols for a week. Without a doubt the first summer camp is incredibly important in getting a scouting career off to a good start. This has been a good week - solid camp staff and program, excellent weather for summer in Texas, and one of the finest groups of boys we've ever had. I am proud of each of them, wish I could have been there at camp with them all week!

By the way if you are wondering why they are eating on the ground, it's family dinner night and the dining hall is pretty crowded. It is a pleasant evening so it is easier to just grab a plate and eat outside.
