Living History Night

One of the most fun evening activities is Living History Night. There are all kinds of demonstrations of Native American and pioneer living, based in the area around the log cabin (which by the way, is the oldest building in Bastrop County, although it didn't originate there, and was moved from the original Scout camp near where Loop 360 goes now). Nick Cowey, pictured here, has amassed a huge array of Lewis and Clark artifacts, from tools and guns to furs and other specimens, and he probably knows as much about them and about Lewis and Clark as anyone since Jefferson's time! He can entertain youth and adults for hours with stories and demonstrations.
